Manchester United legend Gary Neville trolled Boris Johnson for addressing the nation during Southampton’s clash with Liverpool because Danny Ings during the announcement.
The Prime Minister spoke to the nation at 8pm and revealed that the UK will go into a six-week national lockdown.
At the same time, Ings put Southampton ahead against his former club inside the opening two minutes of the match.
Many football fans would have been split and unsure whether to watch Johnson’s address or the Premier League clash.
Neville posted a video on Twitter of himself watching both at the same time – and decided to troll the UK’s leading figure.
The former full-back cheekily chuckled: “Southampton have scored Boris.”
All grassroots sports has been cancelled has been cancelled with the latest news.
However, Premier League and other elite sports will be allowed to continue so long as stringent coronavirus rules remain in place.
