Mike Tyson returned to the ring against Roy Jones Jr in Los Angeles in an exhibition bout consisting of eight rounds of two minutes which ended up a draw. Neither man was able to beat the other as the two legends rolled back the years and showed off their talents.
Tyson looked the more impressive of the two heavyweight heroes but the three judges ruled the contest a draw.
On the result Iron Mike said:
Tyson says: “I’m good with that. Yeah but I’m good with a draw, because I entertained the crowd, the crowed was happy with it.
“I’m used to doing it for three minutes, sometimes like two minutes or three minutes.
“I hope to go further, absolutely, and he can be on the card as well.
“I’m cool with a draw, just might have to do it again.
“Body shots definitely took a toll the body shots are what make you exhausted.”
Tyson, 54, had shed an impressive six stones for the bout at the Staples Center and looked in superb shape.
Jones Jr was perhaps expected to be the more sharp going into the exhibition having boxed last in 2018 and won his last four fights.
In the end, neither man was able to do enough to win though despite most having Tyson ahead comfortably.
Earlier in the evening YouTube star Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson in dramatic fashion.
After the match which saw Robinson left unconscious after three knockdowns, Paul would go on to challenge UFC superstar Conor McGregor to a fight.
Tyson and Jones Jr will take the headlines though after fighting to a draw but rolling back the years in Los Angeles at the same time.
