Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho says Harry Kane is an injury doubt for this Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal. Kane has a great record against Arsenal in the Premier League, having scored 10 goals in his 11 appearances in matches with the Gunners. The England captain has started this season in red-hot form as well, having scored seven goals and contributed nine assists for his team-mates.
But Mourinho has revealed the 27-year-old is struggling with an injury.
Kane missed Spurs training on Wednesday, along with a number of his team-mates.
However, Portuguese boss Mourinho is still confident Kane will be available on Sunday.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of Thursday’s Europa League match away to LASK, Mourinho said: “I’m not going to tell you the nature of his injury.
“The ones who aren’t playing much time in their mind have only one thing to do and that is to show in the minutes they have that they should be playing,” Mourinho said.
“I don’t have any problem with Dele. I don’t have any problems with any of them.
“My players are happy when they play and not happy when they don’t play. I don’t blame my players. It’s only to improve their situation by using every minute they have to improve their position.
“The concept above everything is the concept that the team is more important than any of us.
“The example is Ben Davies. Against Chelsea he played five minutes and last season he’d play 90 minutes. But he played those 90 minutes like they were the last five minutes of his career.”
